What brings people here
You don't need a crisis to work on relationships. Often it's a quieter recognition that something keeps repeating. People come to me for things like:
- Recurring conflict or the same argument on a loop
- Anxiety in relationships: needing reassurance, fearing abandonment, overthinking texts
- Pulling away or shutting down when things get close
- Difficulty setting boundaries, or saying yes to keep the peace
- Codependency and losing yourself in someone else's needs
- Navigating a breakup, divorce, infidelity, or a relationship that's changing
- Family conflict, or complicated relationships with parents and siblings
- Wanting to understand your attachment style and how it shows up
This is individual therapy, meaning we work on your side of the relationship: your patterns, your needs, and the parts of you that step forward when things get hard. That's often where the most durable change happens.
How I work with relationship patterns
I work from an attachment-based and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed lens. Most relationship patterns make sense once you understand where they came from: the part of you that goes quiet during conflict, or the part that reaches for reassurance, learned that strategy for a reason. Together we get to know those parts with curiosity rather than judgment, so they don't have to run on autopilot.
I also bring in Emotionally Focused and somatic tools, because relational stress lives in the body, and DBT-informed skills for communication and boundaries you can actually use in the moment. I'm trauma-informed throughout, since the way we were cared for early on shapes how we connect now.
The aim is a stronger, more secure relationship with yourself, which changes how you show up with everyone else.
What to expect
We begin with a free 15-minute consultation. From there, our first session is an intake where we map out what's happening in your relationships and what you'd like to feel differently.
Sessions are 50 minutes, weekly or biweekly, held online via secure HIPAA-compliant video. Over time, most people find they can stay present in hard conversations, name what they need, and tolerate closeness without losing themselves.
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) and Certified Life Coach practicing under approved clinical supervision in Washington State. I'm LGBTQ+ affirming and welcome clients in all relationship structures. Sessions are $150 for 50 minutes; I'm an out-of-network provider and provide monthly superbills.
